Like many other blogs, a mixture of book reviews, links I found interesting, comments on the day's news.

44 New Things #10 - Queen for a Day

My aunt Ann took a picture of the tiara my colleagues gave me at the SLA conference - they crowned me Queen of the Division at the division Business Meeting (I was chair this year).

It's a silly inexpensive tiara - the kind many little girls would love, but I had fun wearing it for a couple of hours.

York

After the SLA conference in Baltimore, I spent a few days visiting relatives in York, PA, which is only a short drive north of Baltimore. My dad is one of 9 children, and most of them stayed in the area, so I had a lot of relatives to visit. I stayed with Ann & Roger, my aunt & uncle. They have a nice house in York, but are in the process of renovating an old mill outside of town, where they hope to move.

I had a lot of fun in York, as I have a lot of family there. I spent one afternoon at my Uncle John & Aunt Rosalie's place - John was busy removing some old stumps (they are planning a garden party in August to celebrate my cousin's engagement), but Ann, Rosalie, my Aunt Louise and I relaxed with Cosmopolitans.

I didn't get any photos of my uncles Clarence, Joe or Mike, but I saw them during my visit. Ann, Aunt Louise, & I also went out to my grandfather's house to check out Uncle Vince's garden (he's married to my Aunt Delores). Vince & Delores also very kindly treated me to an excellent dinner of lemon grilled chicken and fresh vegetables and a nice breakfast after Mass on Sunday.
